Homebase Residencies

How to make art in times of COVID-19

In a world of social distancing and lockdown artistic residencies become harder and harder to easily achieve. Moreover, what exactly is the point of an artistic residency without the guarantee of the possibility of presenting the outcomes for an audience? HOMEBASE is a residency project where we are inviting a series of artists and cultural workers to conduct supported research residencies from their homes to answer the question: what does my practice need in the context of lockdown and COVID-19?

Every residency will be conducted over the period of four weeks, with an (online) public presentation or artist talk in which the artists will present their findings. Join us as we try to figure out what it looks like to make art in the context of so much distance.
