Living literary jukebox Lanoye turns 60!

Even seeming immortals like stage-lover and literary icon Tom Lanoye one day turn sixty. For Lanoye the big day is 27 August 2018: the perfect occasion for a book of photos and unpublished archive material, and an exhibition at Ghent’s De Krook. And it wouldn’t be complete without a tour: ‘Jubilee Lanoye’.

In part one of ‘Jubilee Lanoye’, the writer, like a living literary jukebox, will deliver texts from his immense oeuvre live and on-demand. In the second part, Lanoye will join partners-in-crime Nicolas Rombouts (double bass) and Teun Verbruggen (drums) to create a chaos of improvised literary jazz. Raw, striking blue notes that embody the character of Lanoye’s oeuvre, going all the way back to his first poems and performances in the early eighties. A travelling birthday party!
