Thu 01.07.'21-Sun 04.07.'21Citadelpark Gent
Publiek Park is an open-air exhibition that will inhabit the unique setting of the Citadelpark in Ghent during the first four days of July 2021, bringing together visual art, performance, music and film at the interface of culture, nature and heritage.
Building upon the layers of narratives already present in the park – its history, surrounding myths and social dynamics – a selection of twenty local and international artists will be presenting artworks, which reflect and expand the experience of the Citadel Park as an urban and natural public space. The visitors of the park will be invited for a walk, following a route of familiar pathways and hidden corners, including locations that are ordinarily not publicly accessible such as the military casemates, the former dog shelter and the magical aquarium grotto.
In addition to the main exhibition route, a varied public programme of events will be offered every day, including performances, a symposium, guided tours, a series of music concerts by KRAAK, a film programme by Art Cinema OFFoff and many more. Participating artists: Kristaps Ancāns, Ines Claus, Marc Cosyns, Koba De Meutter, Marcin Dudek, Helen Anna Flanagan, Mark Grootes, Polina Kanis, Gaëlle Leenhardt, Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe, Quenton Miller, Mountaincutters, Anthony Ngoya, Shalva Nikvashvili, Jacopo Pagin, Laure Prouvost, Clara Spilliaert, Nina-Joy Thielemans, Evita Vasiļjeva and Xuan-Lin Wang.
