Did you ever wonder when Vooruit’s monumental building was constructed?
Or what happened to Vooruit during the First and Second World Wars?
Or how the construction of a hotel and car park was narrowly avoided in the 80s?
Or how many people work here now and whether it was ever any different?
Did you forget whether the building had 365, 366 or 367 rooms in total?
Discover the answers to these and many other questions during a guided tour of the Vooruit building. An experienced guide will take you, as a group or individual, through the turbulent history of one of Ghent’s most iconic buildings. From backstage to the stalls, and from the tower to the basement, on every floor and in every corner there’s a story or anecdote waiting to be told.
In addition to familiar venues such as our Theatre and Concert Hall, you’ll get a peek at areas visitors usually don’t get to see: rehearsal spaces, backstage areas, the attic and, of course, the tower, with its glorious view of Ghent.
