Na ‘Flamer’, het duet met broer Lander, maakt de Gentse performer en choreograaf Femke Gyselinck ‘Moving Ballads’. Gyselinck gaat op zoek naar ongehoorde verhoudingen tussen popmuziek en moderne dans, lyrics en lyriek, uitbeelding en verbeelding.

‘Moving Ballads’ neemt de etymologische betekenis van het woord ballade - een ‘gedanst lied’ - letterlijk. Pianist-componist Hendrik Lasure componeert voor deze performance een ballade die muzikaal en tekstueel het oeuvre van Joni Mitchell omvat. Samen met drie dansers brengt hij een reeks variaties op dit nummer, gaande van een strikt muzikale performance tot een stille dans. Gyselincks choreografie streeft naar een evenwicht tussen organisatie en fysieke individualiteit, tussen gestileerde beweging en achteloosheid.
