TOURETTESHERO / Jess Thom
Wed 06.11.'1919:00 - 22:00Foyer Theaterzaal
UK-based artist, performer and part-time superhero Jess Thom makes visible the hidden barriers that exclude disabled people from public spaces. Thom draws on her own lived experience, knowledge of the arts, and work with children, to disrupt the assumption of ‘normative privilege’. Referencing the social model of disability, her provocation challenges ideas about who is responsible for making change by calling out our collective failure to consider difference. Expect laughter, surreal tics and plenty of biscuits as she discusses the potential of creativity for catalysing change.
