Jefta Van Dinther
Tue 03.1219:15 - 23:00Stadsschouwburg Kortrijk
Five female dancers elevate our ordinary oral traditions and expressions into something transcendent in this extraordinarily unsettling choreography. Reciting, chanting and praying, they forcefully move into and out of defined and defining patterns. By calling attention to the intergenerational, ‘The Quiet’ engages with some overlooked aspects of time: putting some time aside or simply letting it pass away.
Jefta van Dinther is known for his notions surrounding illusions, the (in)visible and the darkness. For this performance van Dinther once again works with lighting designer Minna Tiikkainen, sound designer David Kiers and scenographer Cristina Nyffeler. This creative quartet created the acclaimed performance ‘Dark Field Analysis’ which is currently still touring worldwide.
