Last Yearz Interesting Negro

Last Yearz Interesting Negro and her collaborators see dance as a radical social practice, often focusing on subjects relating to the emotional, the physiological or the psychological. Their shows see the bodies of the audience and the performer(s) alike transformed into object, animal, human, machine, environment and energy. In this way they build atmospheres that develop in step with the unfolding tension.
Last Yearz Interesting Negro is the performance project of London-based artist and dancer Jamila Johnson-Small. She returns to Vooruit for the second edition of WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST.
