During the transition between the 19th and 20th centuries, French pianist Claude Debussy changed the face of classical music with his beautiful compositions. In ‘Piano Works Debussy’ choreographer Lisbeth Gruwez and pianist Claire Chevallier perform a physical duet set to the composer’s music.
Gruwez is co-founder of the dance company Voetvolk and has performed on productions by Jan Fabre, Jan Lauwers and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Chevalier is a much sought-after pianist for solo performances, chamber concerts and orchestral concerts. Together they go in search of the spaces between the notes in Debussy’s rebellious compositions.
