Dates & tickets

While knitting, listen to the story of Irish rural women and exchanging experiences about the value of (manual) labor.

The first meeting in a series of a ‘no experience required’ knitting and craft group which will gather to discuss and consider social and cultural questions through an ongoing, informal and (hopefully) joyous craft practice. This first meeting will feature a talk/story session exploring the history of women’s craft in the hyperlocal context of West Donegal in the north west of Ireland, and how we apportion value to labour, led by Róise Goan.

Róise Goan currently works as Guest Dramaturg at Vooruit in Belgium, and as a freelance arts programmer. She is artistic director of The Local Group, a new company that creates performance projects with communities of place and interest in off-the-grid locations.

Practicals

If you have your own wool, knitting and crochet needles, please bring them with you. If you don’t have them, Vooruit will provide this for you.
